Purchase: I bought this saddle from Dover 8 years ago. I cannot remember how much I paid for it because it was a christmas present and I was only in 5th grade.
Likes: I LOVED THIS SADDLE TO DEATH. I got this saddle in 5th grade and it was an awfully light color (i thought that was cool then). However after 8 years and thousands of hours in the saddle (rain or shine) it is a beautiful dark color. The leather on the seat takes oil well, although the flaps not as much. I used this saddle on every horse I rode- 13.1, 14.2, 15.1, 16 to 17.1! It fit all of them well enough. I showed Eventing, Jumpers, Equitation and Hunters in this saddle.
Dislikes: The leather of the billets seems to be a little lower quality and is harder to clean. However they have not broken or anything and are still even after 8 years of riding. Unfortunately the flap no longer hits my knee right. I am very petite still but it just did not put my leg in a good place any longer. The stirrup bar is not recessed- this makes the stirrups easy to get on (great for kids) but I prefer to have less bulk under my leg.
Quality: The construction and quality are both great, it held up to rigorous use. I wouldn't pay top dollar for it though, but it is a great saddle for this price range and would consider buying another one.
Summary: Perfect first saddle and would be a great saddle at any time. They have probably changed the saddle up a lot since I bought this one but this saddle served me well in many disciplines. I have just bought another saddle but I believe I will still be able to sell this one used for a fair price
