Purchase: I paid around 600 for this saddle on Ebay. It was used and I'm unsure of its age. I bought this saddle because after 4 years of showing English, I wanted to give western a try.I wanted a cheaper used saddle, because I was only going to be showing at the local Open show level.
Likes: It is a great first show saddle, I really like it. It's comfortable, attractive, and fits both me and my horse fine. It has beautiful basket weave tooling on the entire saddle, and sliver on the skirt, cantle, horn, and top side of the pommel. It's color is a lighter chestnut, and the padded suede seat is a light tan.
Dislikes: A couple pieces of silver are coming loose, but could be fixed. Also, the stirrups don't like to face the proper way when you're riding.
Quality: The leather is of good quality. It doesn't have that fake plastic-like appearance like some other cheaper saddles have. All of the stitching is intact, and the dye hasn't bled out at all. The only fault is the loose pieces of silver.
Summary: Bottom line: this is a great show saddle if all you will be doing is Open shows. It looks respectable and would definitely catch a judges eye. Sure, it isn't no Circle Y, but would suit the majority of Western show riders.
