Purchase: I bought this saddle at Lightening G Horseman's Shop in New York. I paid $350, it was used, it had rubs along the flap, seat, and underneath the flap.
Likes: I absolutely LOVE this saddle! It has a very nice color do it, and it did darken to a richer tone once i cleaned and oiled it. It is extremely comfortable for any length of time. It held the oil very well and most of the rubs are darkened and are less noticeable. Friends who ride in $1,000+ saddles have ridden in this one and were surprised how nice it felt. My legs are in the right spot, and the tree fit the different horses I ride- ranging from a draft mix to a small shetland pony.
Dislikes: It did take a few oiling jobs (about 4 or 5) to get the saddle supple again- the previous owner had not taken care of it. The stirrup bar has also chaffed the edges of my leathers. Also, if the buckle guard is not pulled down over the billets, it pinches my leg; but after the guard is pulled down you cannot feel it.
Quality: The quality and construction are amazing in this saddle. The knee rolls are comfortable and are in the correct place.
Summary: I would buy this saddle again. I also recommend it to my friends who are looking for a saddle because this one is worth it!
