Purchase: I bought this saddle stand for $90 from Dover (stained). I wanted a quality saddle stand that could also hold a rider's weight.
Likes: This saddle stand is absolutely beautiful! It's stained a lovely cherry color. It's shaped correctly for my close contact saddle. The shelf underneath is handy for extra stirrups, leathers, girths, gloves, etc. Sturdy but very easy to pick up and move around.
Dislikes: The wood is a little rough in places, but a saddle pad under the saddle solves that.
Quality: This is very well built. It stands level and is built to fit an english saddle. Because it's shaped correctly, it supports the panels on my saddle but doesn't press on the gullet. The stain is beautiful and definitely worth the extra $$.
Summary: If you're looking for a classy alternative to a wall-mounted saddle rack, this is for you! Built to fit an english saddle with a handy shelf on the bottom for all the extras that tend to get lost. I even mounted a bridle hook on the front. Love it!
