Hilason Saddlery Co.
Treeless Saddle
Barrel Saddles
Manufacturer: Hilason Saddlery Co.
Model: Treeless Saddle
Category: Barrel Saddles
Purchase: I have been long searching for treeless saddle but was constrained to stick to Bob Marshall treeless saddle that is good but has a lot of flaw. This search was over when I searched on Ebay and found Hilason Saddlery Co. providing a wide range of treeless saddles. They claimed that there saddle has considered and fixed all the flaws in Bob Marshall. This was absolutely right when I fearfully tried their Barrel Racing Type. I just could not control my joy in riding after such a long time. I could actually feel the breath of my horse and could feel his comfort by his movement and quick responses. The barrel racing saddle I bought cost me a total of $546 icluding shipping. THe top quality in the saddle forced me to acquire their endurance type for $438.
Likes: Their barrel racing saddle had all that the famous Bob MArshall treeless saddle has. Being an old rider and a one time saddle maker my self, I discovered that Hilason saddle maker had done a very brilliant weight distribution of the rider all across the saddle, unlike Bob Marshall. This gave that extra comfort to the horse to easily make turns in barrel racing. Also, their stirrup postion was in forward place that gave stability in manovering, both for the horse and the rider. Their hand tooling pattern and pommel design was also very appealing. Overall, I will rate it better than Bob Marshall if compared based on affordability and quality of riding.
Dislikes: So far I have not been able to find any point to disqualify or dislike the saddle despite the fact that I do have a very pessimistic approach on new products. In trying both their endurance and Barrel Racing, I think they are very technical manufacturer and have done their ground work before launching their product in the market.
Quality: The construction, as I have already described above, is amazing. I think this product will push the requirement and like for treeless saddle to the next level, more especially for their approach in improving on Bob Marshall rather than re-inventing the wheel. THe measurement, precision and quality of leather is superp.
Summary: I think it is worth a try if one is new to horse riding or one that has never attempted treeless saddle. These are very affordable saddles and easliy available to public rather than placing orders and waiting for months. In addition, they do have variety indicating that they are professionals in Treeless saddles.
