Purchase: I bought these on eBay for about $65 - still cheaper than the tack store. They were NIP.
Likes: They have no bulk under your thigh - does not feel as though a stirrup leather is even there! Because the buckle is near the iron, it is a lot easier to adjust while you are mounted.
Dislikes: The leather is calfskin on the top but not the back - or not most of the back. It showed very visible rubs on my dressage saddle - not even a calfskin saddle, but good leather (Amerigo saddle). I ride with a pretty tight leg and it really gouged my saddle. Also, rather than running my irons up and tucking the leathers, the highest setting (notch) still had the irons hanging at least 6-7", which caused my irons to constantly bang into my saddle. Not too big a deal, I guess, but I am pretty picky about keeping my saddles nice :)
Quality: It is OK. The leather is thin which is good for feel and look but the part leather/part plastic was discouraging. I sold these after 2 months worth of use.
The leather over the holes (where the bar fits in and holds the iron) is thin and I believe it would wear easily.
Summary: I believe Stubben makes a similar one too and I will try theirs. I would only put these on a cheaper saddle or one with grain leather.
I like the lack of bulk, but it is not worth the way it made my saddle look. And it doesn't oil out!!! It still looks like a cat attacked my flaps!
