Purchase: I got this at a local tack store when I was sort of half looking for a new saddle. It was on sale for around $700 (I think full price they are around $900), and for a saddle that appeared this nice even on the rack and was only $700, well I just had to sit in it... took it out on trial and fell in love!
Likes: Where to start! Well first of all the price, obviously! The balance is great, the support over the jumps is great, not to mention this is a very comfortable saddle. The regular tree fits most horses. I love the recessed stirrup bar so you have no lump under your leg. And it is attractive!
Dislikes: Well, the billets, like other HDR saddles are a bit short and thick... but other than that, I can't find anything.
Quality: WAYYYY better than you would expect for a saddle this price! The leather is great, it takes oil beautifully, and breaks in quickly. I especially love the soft leather on the seat and flaps. The stitching is good quality as well and is showing no signs of wear.
Summary: Well even a reasonably ok saddle for $700 is a good deal, but this saddle, even at full price, is an absolute steal. Everyone at the barn who has ridden in it likes this saddle, from my trainer who rides in a CWD, to friends with everything from Kincade to Antares. I can't say enough good things about it!
