Purchase: I ordered my breastcollar directly from the web site, which I happened upon while doing a general search for different types of breastcollars. I needed to find a breastcollar that allowed my Tennessee Walking Horse more freedom of movement in his shoulders, without the strap that crossed over in front of his withers.
I placed the order for the item in black leather, no tooling, and quickly received a response that the item was not currently in stock. I was told that they did have some of the breastcollars in black with tooling, if I was interested. Otherwise, they could make one for me without tooling, though it would take a couple of weeks. That's the option I took, and it was WELL worth it! Customer service was exceptional; very friendly and helpful, and kept me updated each step of the way so that I was never left wondering about the status of my order. Purchase price: $85
Likes: I love the overall design of the Pulling Breastcollar. Rather than attaching to the rings on the front of the saddle, there are two heavy-duty leather straps that loop through the swell/pommel on each side of the horn, and then buckle to the actual breastcollar piece. It provides a very secure feel; much more than attaching to the rings on my saddle. The curve of the breastcollar follows the line of my horse's shoulders, allowing him more freedom of movement at any speed or gait. Leather is great quality and looks great, even when muddy and scratched by thorns.
Dislikes: I've been riding with this breastcollar for a couple of years and have yet to find anything I don't like about it.
Quality: This is a VERY sturdy, well-made piece of equipment. Not only that, but it's handsome and looks GREAT on my horse. I put many, many miles of riding with it and it holds up extremely well. There is a lot of mud where I ride (which is why I specifically didn't want tooling), but with regular cleaning and maintenance this breastcollar holds up beautifully.
Summary: Excellent quality, beautiful craftsmanship, reasonable price, wonderful customer service. I would highly recommend this product, and will definitely be a repeat customer with Montana Mountain Horse.
