Purchase: I purchased this blanket through State line Tack online in Sept. 2008. I paid $129 for it, and the shipping was free.
Likes: I ordered a 78" for my Paint gelding and right out of the bag it fit like a glove. It looked very sturdy and fit perfectly. I really liked the 3 surcingle belly straps and the front closure as well. The hood that came with it was a very nice addition too, easily removable.
Dislikes: The hood sustained nicks and small tears after one day of wear. The blanket had a pretty large tear after a week, about 4", looked like 2 sides of a square, in the lower shoulder area. All nicks and tears compromised the waterproof integrity of the blanket.The Rambo 3 yr guarantee does not currently apply to their QH line of blankets.
Quality: To look at, and feel the blanket, it seems like it's very high quality and durable. Depending on where you look for information, it's either 1000D or 1200D ripstop fabric with their "aquatrans" waterproofing technology. Unfortunately, appearances are deceiving.
Summary: I had banked on the Horseware Rambo name to deliver a quality product that could withstand the rigors of a horse in pasture. I've certainly had less expensive brands last much longer on him than 1 week. Their customer service was of no help and offered nothing in the way of reparations. For the amount of money that I spent (I bought a Rambo Wug before I discovered the tear) I had expected much better performance and customer service.
