Purchase: I purchased this saddle at a local tack store that was closing down for $625. It usually runs about $925. I wanted a cheaper priced saddle with quality and it is by far the MOST comfy saddle! (This is my first saddle I have owned)
Likes: I love the color (medium chestnut) and quality of the leather. When I first bought the saddle, it was as if someone had already used it for a year or two. It was amazingly flexible. Also, The seat is cushions you very very well and keeps your legs in position almost all of the time. It fit my pony very well and also fits a variety of other horses (it's a regular tree). I've fit it on Paso Finos and a 15.2h paint horse. It works for jumping and flatwork.
Dislikes: Hmm... what I do not like about this saddle is that... well the ONLY thing is.... Oh, I give up, all of it is awesome!
Quality: For the price, the leather is exceptional. I have gotten a hefty amount of great comments about it. I was riding just about every day in the summer and the start of fall. When winter started I didn't ride as much, though, and I worried that the leather might crack. But, it's holding up wonderfully in the below zero conditions.
Summary: I absolutely love this saddle, and hope I never have to sell it. The use I will be getting out of it will be plenty, and I DEFINITELY recommend that you snatch up this awesome deal, even if Ovation isn't as recognizable a brand as Crosby. It would also make a satisfactory lesson saddle, although you will want to keep it when you get a taste of the luxury. If you want a stylish, affordable, and versatile saddle, this is the one for you!
