Purchase: I bought this saddle online last season for my daughter. She needed a larger seat and we sold her Big Horn but couldn't afford a high price show saddle. I paid $795 and was pleased with the quality vs. price. As the saying goes: "You get what you pay for"
Likes: I like the size of this saddle...the skirting is substantial for a saddle in this price range. The quality also is good for the price. We have received a lot of compliments on this saddle and like I said it is a nice purchase for someone who cannot afford a high dollar show saddle. It is also available in an 18 inch seat (my daughter is 5'10 and a larger build) and that was a great feature! I bought a basic zipper saddle cover for this saddle elsewhere and it did not fit, so that gives you an idea of the size.
Dislikes: One thing I don't care for is the leather has little punch holes for the design and it may be hard to clean because the product you're using will get trapped in the holes, so it may be more time consuming. We keep ours covered and wiped with a dry cloth except for stirrups (clean more thoroughly) where it can really get soiled. Silver is fair...looks nice and shiny but is not of an excellent quality. Also, I have had a hard time locating a matching headstall for this. It's heavy...but what show saddle isn't??? Stirrups are hard to break in(turn in) especially when you only ride in the saddle basically to show. We school in a work saddle.
Quality: Good construction and quality for the price.
I would recommend for someone on a lower budget. The silver has not peeled for us as some have mentioned in other reviews. Overall I would recommend for the budget minded person.
Summary: Generally, we are very pleased with this saddle purchase. We show local and 4-h and the saddle does stand out.
