Purchase: I purchased this bridle from Green River Discount Tack on E-Bay. I paid $15.00 and that includes the shipping! I needed a new bridle, but had been very disappointed with the quality of the last few leather bridles I had purchased. I did not have the money to buy a high-end bridle so I started looking for an alternative.
Likes: Love the price and, honestly, expected something that was going to be kind of crappy, but would get me through for a while. Ended up pleasantly surprised and really liking the bridle. I love that it is practically maintenance free. It was inexpensive enough that I don't feel like I need to baby it like a more expensive leather bridle.
Dislikes: The throat latch is a little stiff at first and there is no buckle for it. You have to tie your own knot. Did not like that at first and was not sure it was safe, but it did loosen up and the knot that I tie stays secure, so in the end, works well.
Quality: The Vaquero headstall is made from braided nylon that was softer then I expected. It is not going to work as a show bridle, but for trails and pleasure riding it works great. There are no pre-made holes in this bridle. Just poke the buckle through the nylon for a perfect fit for your horse. I was concerned about that at first, thinking that this would ruin the nylon and it would start to fray, but I have had this bridle for 6 months and it is still in great shape.
Summary: I really like it and you can't beat the price. If you are looking for inexpensive and something a little different then a plain leather bridle, check it out.
