Purchase: Purchased new for $800 about 22 years ago from Lazy K in NJ. Bought it for a high withered thoroughbred. This was, at the time, the best fitting saddle for him.
Likes: Everything! What I love best is that it fit a lot of different horses. I have used it on thoroughbreds, standardbreds and morgan horses. I have ridden in this saddle for 22+ yrs without having to replace any parts. This saddle is still in use today. I took a 3 yr break from riding and left the saddle in the barn admittedly uncared for. A little leather conditioner restored it perfectly. It is a versatile saddle - won blues in morgan pleasure/equitation classes and used for foxhunting. I love the close contact feel. The color is very attractive on all color horses and easy to match up with other bridles.
Dislikes: Only complaint is a cosmetic one. The smooth leather flaps are beautiful but rubs easily under the leathers. Some slight cracking just starting to appear under back padding (but after 22 yrs...). Another reviewer said the saddle is hard. Probably that is so compared to some of today's cushy saddles. It is fine for me even after 3 hours in the saddle.
Quality: Excellent workhorse of a saddle. Built to last. Great example of Crosby quality. After 22 yrs, it stills serves a a nice saddle for my daughter.
Summary: No regrets. Crosby makes a very good product.
