Purchase: I purchased the saddle through Kate's website. I paid $299 plus $30 for a horn. That saddle package included endurance stirrups, 2.5" stirrup leathers and a cord girth. I don't believe they sell the saddle without the accessories.
Likes: The customer service is great. They answer the phone directly, they call back, and they respond to emails within 12 hrs. They molded the shape of the tree to fit a tracing of my horses withers. It is lightweight, only 17lbs, and a aussie/endurance hybrid, a great idea for the trail.
Dislikes: As soon as I opened the box I was disappointed. The saddle is marketed as synthetic but is over half leather - not the durability or care I was looking for. It was coming apart at some seams and the way it had been packed in the box caused bubbles and creases on the leather part of the flaps. The tree had been shaped for my horse but it came out so far to the side that it made the flaps look like wings on my horse. I have a 14.2hh arab.
I sat in the saddle and it felt small - I got a 18" and I'm usually a 17" in english saddles. I never rode in it because at that point I was too disappointed and I ended up returning it.
Quality: I did like that the flocking is memory foam, but I never tried it out. Only part of the flaps were synthetic, the seat, horn and a strip on the flaps are leather.
Summary: The website needs more close up pictures, and a better description. If I'd known was I was getting I wouldn't have ordered it.
