Purchase: I buy Triple Crown Senior at our local Agway for around $18.00 for a 50# bag.
Likes: Our Clydesdale mare has EPSM and this feed has the highest fat content and lowest carbs that I could find in our area. There are other feeds out there, but nowhere close to us. It has worked wonders for our mare, (we also add corn oil to her feed). We feed it to all 3 of our horses, we also have one 25 yr. old standardbred, and one 18 yr. old arabian. We had them on Purina Strategy, which was ok, but the sugar was high and fat low and they started eating the bark off the trees in the pasture and ate the barn. (vet said they may be lacking some minerals)Since feeding Triple Crown they have not morphed into beavers.
You can also feed as a complete feed if you have no or poor quality hay.
Dislikes: It's a little pricey, but I feel it's well worth it compared to some of the supplements out there.
Quality: Feed is brick like when you get it, and you have to break it up.
Summary: This stuff is awesome, and your horse doesn't have to be senior to use it.
