Purchase: After searching several brands, I decided upon this maker and model since it was readily available in the size and color (tobacco for those of us with brown dressage saddles) I needed. I choose to purchase through VTO Saddlery online because of their competitive prices (around $170) and very reasonable shipping ($4.99 flat fee).
Likes: I like the quality of the leather, which is top notch. The entire make up of the girth is wonderful. Nice touches -- padded, roller buckles, hidden elastic panels for the horse's comfort, ample keepers, etc.
Dislikes: There isn't anything I do not like about the girth. I wish it were more economical, but for what is on the market, it is one of the more affordable options.
Quality: Excellent all the way around... from quality of the material to the attention to detail in it's construction. Beautiful too.
Summary: For those of us with horses with forward girth lines, large shoulders, etc, an anatomical girth is an excellent tool to help provide a comfortable and secure saddle fit. It won't help a bad saddle fit but it can make a good fit work even better, counter-acting slippage due to the girth moving forward to fit the girth line. This design works to prevent that.
The Pestige version offers superb quality and a pretty reasonable price compared to similar products. The fit and quality more than prevented any buyer's remorse I would have otherwise had for paying that much for a girth. A wonderful and permanent addition to my tack room.
