Purchase: I purchased the saddle new from Valley Vet for $1650. It arrived within a week.
Likes: It is simply a beautiful saddle. The tooling and double skirts really give this saddle an authentic old west appearance. The skirt of the saddle is very short, so it works well for my large pony. The saddle is very comfortable to sit in. The wide tree fits my pony nicely.
Dislikes: The saddle is a little heavier than most of Tuckers' other saddles. At 30 lbs, it's on the higher end of weight for a trail saddle. I ride a large pony, so it's no problem for me to swing it onto his back, but if I had a 16 hand horse, I'd be struggling.
My only other complaint is that somehow the saddle sets me pretty far back in the seat when I ride. I'm not sure if that's typical of trail saddles, and it's in no way uncomfortable, but my trainer makes me ride in a different saddle for lessons because she thinks my saddle sets me in an incorrect position.
Quality: The saddle seems very solid and well-made. I've had it for a couple months now and have ridden in it 4-5 times/day, and it still looks new. I don't anticipate any problems with the craftsmanship or longevity of this saddle.
Summary: This is a very nice stylish trail saddle.
