Purchase: I acquired this fly mask just last week, having tried the Cashel and Farnham Super Mask II. I paid $30 through netEquestrian.com.
I had the same problem as another reviewer in that the mask's "bug eyes" had turned inward-into my horse's eyes!! This was shortly after I put it on him.
He is blind in one eye, and this just was an expensive vet bill waiting to happen. I have spent enough $$ on emergency visits due to his blind eye. I didn't need any more.
The concept is excellent, but the design, for some reason falls very flat.
Also, I bought the "long" mask, to cover the whole face. Even after "straightening" the mask out, it still was a little hard to attach the bottom piece to the mask.
The sizes are hard to deal with too. My boy is a regular sized QH and I bought the "horse size"-way too big. Then I sent it back and got the Arab size (for horses up 800-900 lbs)-too small in some areas, big in others. Go figure.
Needless to say, THAT mask was returned.
I am returning to the Super Mask II which lasted me over 2 years!!!!
Likes: The concept of the "bug eye" design..but just the CONCEPT!
Dislikes: The design for some reason seems flawed in that the "eyes" turn inward and don't pop back out. This is a HUGE safety issue.
Sizing was difficult as was attaching the bottom nose piece as the flap never wanted to stay open and kept sticking to the velcro.
Quality: OK.
Summary: I returned it and will NEVER try it again unless the manufacturer fixes these flaws.
