Likes: I love the service you get from owner Cynthia Wright. After you send a picture and brief description of your horse, she sends you a set of "fit forms" to see which tree will fit best on your horse. You send her a series of photos for her keen eye to judge which will fit best, or if your knowledgeable, just of the one you feel fits best. You choose the style of skirt, flex or standard tree, color, tooling, conchos, stirrups, etc. etc. etc. She talked me into the flex tree and ordering an extra-wide, since my 5 yr old may still will still gain some width. I'm so glad she did. This saddle fits my horse like a glove.
Dislikes: Absolutely nothing.
Quality: It's Amish made - that should say it all. The quality of materials and workmanship are outstanding. The leather is incredible. This is a solid, heavy saddle, much heavier than the (very nice) Circle Y that my farrier loaned me, so no wimps allowed. But I'm a 55 yr old woman, so it can't be that bad. I expect this saddle to last the life (and more) of my little girl.
Summary: You don't have to have a gaited horse to own one of these very fine saddles. My mare is a small (slightly less than 15 hands) paint with a somewhat short back, which is what attracted me to gaited saddles in the first place, but she's not at all slim like gaited horses. I'm thrilled with this saddle, and so is everyone that has seen it. Would I buy it again - you bet! And if I ever need an additional saddle, it will be a Dixieland Gaited Saddle.
