Purchase: Bought from Down Under via the Internet. Upgraded stirrups and girth, paid $1000 including shipping. Staff were helpful and friendly. Saddle shipped the same day I ordered, and arrived in 2 days.
Likes: Fits like a glove with a much deeper seat than my Wintec english. I have a short-backed, high withered Arabian mare - sent them a wither tracing, and the saddle fits her like a glove as well.
Feels very secure. I can post fine, but the poleys & cantle don't allow much excess movement - good, since my horses are kind of skittish. Comfortable ride. I'm surprised at how well I can feel the horse beneath me!
Dislikes: Puts more pressure/sq inch than a western saddle, as did my english one...and the mare notices that difference. Still, no pressure points.
Hate Aussie girths - all of my horses objected to tightening the aussie cinch. Bought a double ring overgirth and converted to western cinch - the horses now stand calm. I tried several aussie girths, but the double looping of the girth annoyed my 3 horses.
Quality: Good quality leather - not quite Circle Y standard, but not their price, either. About the quality I expect at that price range.
Summary: It has converted me - after 3 months of use, I think I'll be riding Aussie saddles for the rest of my life. In fact, I bought a second saddle for my wife's use!
