Purchase: I bought the Raleigh Two Ear Headstall from Schneider Saddlery (sstack.com) online for $29.99. I wanted a headstall that I can attend open shows with, without paying an extra $100 for the nicer Billy Royal headstalls.
Likes: It looks nice from far away. There is a lot of silver on the headstall. For Open and 4H shows, it does the job.
Dislikes: The leather has a gross, plastic look. The silver is cheap. The ears are extremely stiff and stick out when on a horse. Honestly, it looked ridiculous!
Quality: Thinking that, "If it's from Schneider's, it must be nice," I went ahead and bought it. When the headstall came, I came to a conclusion: it's cheap! The screws on the silver would randomly fall off, like I said before, it looks like it's made out of brown plastic and the silver came from 25-cent ring silver you could buy from vending machines at grocery stores.
Summary: If you are on a tight budget and are desperate for a cheap headstall, get this headstall.
