Purchase: I ordered this saddle from a direct buy seller on eBay about 5 years ago and I paid $1200 new for this saddle.
After extensive research, and testing a dozen different brands, I decided to try the Zaldi, even though I'd never heard of it. I knew I didn't want wool-flocked from personal choice, and I have not been disappointed.
Likes: My horse is a medium-wide, medium high withered TB/QH cross....we've had no problems with stability or comfort on XC events, long trail rides, or stadium jumping. The knee and thigh blocks are great and the saddle is so comfy! No sore back with Guy, either.
Dislikes: My only challenge is that I bought a 16.5 and I should have gone with a 17.5, because of the knee roll and my long legs (33" inseam).
Quality: I love the chestnut/london two-tone color (Guy is a chestnut), and it has darkened just a bit from sun and oil, but still retains it's suppleness, softness and color.
The leather is top quality, hasn't cracked or been a problem, even though it was stored in my horse trailer for a year without a cover or oiling.
The tree is flexible, clears Guy's withers, yet doesn't pinch his shoulders.
Summary: I would give this saddle a huge thumbs up to anyone who is looking for a comfortable saddle that fits several horse body types; doesn't hurt the horse's back; and puts the rider in a perfect position for high fences, rough terrain or tricky courses.
