Purchase: I tried this used older Antares because it has short flaps. It was on usedsaddles.com site and I was able to trade a saddle I already had. Without the trade it would have been $850, I think.
Likes: This saddle has a nice wide gullet and my horses love it! Although this one has short billets, that doesn't bother me. It is very well balanced; it allows you to just 'be' in the correct position. At first I thought that it felt bulky where the stirrup bars are, but I think that was just because it is different from my old saddle. I only thought that for the first ride. I love it! Now I know why Passier is recommended so highly.
Dislikes: The only things are irrelevant; it was used and was knocked around a bit by its previous owner. But that's why it was affordable.
Quality: The Passier construction is the best I've seen. I've had other well made English and German saddles. These are the best.
Summary: It's a well balanced saddle that allows me to ride comfortably and effectively. Its wide channel is great for my horses, they go better in this than anything else.
