Purchase: I had been looking for a good quality saddle pad that would not only hold up to our trail riding, but comfort my horse. After reading about thinline products, I decided to buy their pro ride felt pad with the thinline sewn onto the top. I bought this from Valleyvet.com for around $200.
Likes: I LOVE this pad. The very first time I used it on my horse, he stood still to be saddled. After the first use, the pad was conformed to the shape of his back and withers, and did not pinch him at all the entire ride. There weren't ANY dry, rough or white spots on his back. NONE. He had an evenly sweaty back, where as before, his back sweated unevenly. I love that our ride had been more comfortable. I can feel a noticeable difference in his trot. It was very bouncy before, and now I can sit it comfortably. He seems to be more comfortable, which is my main concern.
Dislikes: Well, since there isn't anything I can really do about how expensive it is, the ONLY thing I HATE about this pad is that it doesn't come in any other colors but grey with black wear leathers! It looks okay, but I would much prefer some variety. Or at least a navajo top like some of the other nice pads out there.
Quality: Very well made. I've been using it for awhile now. No loose seams, looks brand new. I just brush off the bottom and it's as good as gold. I'd really recommend the pad.
Summary: Of course, everyone has their own opinions about how a saddle pad should perform, but if you have the money, give this pad a try. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
