Purchase: I bought this mane tamer from Ebay.co.uk for £5.00 (buy it now, including postage).
Likes: Its very simple, it simply wraps round your horses neck and fastens underneath with velcro straps. Its lovely white mesh so the horse doesn't get hot underneath (which is useful for me as I use it on the horses when in transit going to shows). It also has a silky strip along the top so the mane wont get rubbed. Its very simple yet works well! It also stays in place well, I thought it might twist round but actually it doesn't.
Dislikes: It only comes in one size, which proves a little short for my bigger horses necks! And may be too long for little ponies.
Quality: Its quite well made, it is very simple yet effective. The mesh is a great idea, as is the silky bit and the velcro straps are sown on well. I thought maybe if the straps were elastic they may have had a bit more give.
Summary: Its better than the usual lycra type hoods etc. as I found some horses can get sweaty underneath and some really dont like them! This one, nobody has objected to so far!
It keeps horses manes over to one side nicely, even if just going to a show. It also stops hay going into they're plaited manes etc.
