Purchase: I purchased these boots at a local boot store. I paid $110.00 for them at the time, about a year and a half ago.
Likes: I was a long time fan of Justin's lace up boots when I was younger. When I came back to the horse hobby some years later, I was not that impressed with the style that I once wore. I happened upon the George Strait series and was hooked. The uppers are pliable, the insoles are comfortable, and the breaking in time is next to none since the J-Flex sole system is fantastic!
Dislikes: I did not know there was a waterproof version when I purchased my first pair, or I would have gotten those to begin with :) My original pair hold up remarkably well though. It takes a really good soaking to get water to start seeping through the leather. I have never had a problem with the dye either (other review states dye will come off). I have the coffee brown pair though.
Quality: I am rough on boots, really rough. I love how rugged, but lightweight these are. They are as comfortable as a pair of sneakers! I like them so much, I recently went to buy another pair, waterproof this time. This time I ordered the wider size however, because it turns out I needed it. I went to a store that offers custom measuring. I had no clue! Even without the wider size before, the original pair were ultra comfortable!
Summary: I just really like these boots. I am not likely to ever go back to the original hard leather version of Lace-ups.
