Purchase: I bought this bridle and the matching breastplate new from a local tack store for about $125.00.
Likes: This is a truly beautiful set. The leather is thick and supple, and the workmanship clean and tight. I've actually owned 2 of these. I first bought the striking brown on black version, and it looked good on every horse I tried it on. It was in excellent condition even after 2 owners, but I needed a larger size for my new warmblood. I got a great price on it as a trade in, and bought the black on black with the matching breastplate for my coal black Oldenburg. I am so happy with them. They are classic with a twist, and look very elegant. They seem very comfortable for him, too, no chafing or pinching. It looks like I spent a lot more money than I did.
Also, I had some sizing trouble (my fault), and Bobby's customer service fabulous. They were knowledgeable, kind, and went above and beyond to make things work for me.
Dislikes: One nitpick would be that the stitching for the buckles is finished on the outside of the strap, instead of the inside. But it really doesn't matter, because the overlap of the punched strap covers it completely. You can't tell when it's on, and it may be that doing it that way makes the stitching last longer, or something.
Quality: You can see and feel the quality the moment you look at this bridle. I held it side by side a much more expensive brand, and Bobby's was better. It had thicker leather, softer edges, no cracking, and a prettier design--and it cost less than half the price. The stitching is tight, the dye doesn't color the cloth when you clean and oil it, and the leather has a gorgeous, almost glossy quality to it. My used one held up perfectly and my new one wasn't difficult to break in.
Summary: Excellent quality, excellent price, excellent customer service. I'm very happy with my Bobby's tack, and would recommend them to anyone.
