Purchase: $1500 used, one at tack trader,the other through hillview farms used section
Likes: Everything, the saddle is so comfortable for both my horse and I. Sitting in a saddle never felt so good. I can ride much longer. Knee rolls are soft and keep you in the saddle without the bruising swells can cause when your horse jumps sideways. Saddle seems well made.
Dislikes: These were earlier saddles, but a couple design flaws with how the leather pieces came together under the fender. We have replaced a conway buckle with chicago screws (where two pieces screw together with flat faces). I also had to get a Blevins buckle for one saddle. Not sure if the other person had removed the necessary parts or not, but both of these were easy fixes.
Quality: Other than what I mentioned above, these saddles seem to be really good quality. Leather is soft and supple and I love the padded seat. it is wonderful!
Summary: I highly recommend these flexible panel saddles (Amera-flex is about the same just made in America instead of Germany). Why would you wear a wooden shoe when you could wear a hiking boot? That's exactly what people do to their horses when they put them in a rigid tree. My horse was getting pinched in the withers. Now he is happy. This tree flexes with him and his movements and I can ride all my horses with the same saddle because it adjusts to each one. No soreness and great sweat patterns. I was so impressed I bought a 2nd one and I'll never go back to a different kind.
