Purchase: I bought these from a friend for $50 because they were too small for her. I told her I had bad knees and after all day schooling for others at a show my knees were killing me. She said these were meant to fix it so I gave it a shot!
Likes: They are very beautiful stirrups - clean up nicely and shine well. It did lower my heel, as they were designed to do.
Dislikes: My knees hurt MORE after riding in these! The fact that you don't have a solid base in your foot because the stirrup bottom keeps moving away from you when you push on it is not helpful to me in any way. It is harder to stay balanced because you do not have a good base - George Morris hates them and now I see why!
My knees killed because I wasn't able to get a solid foot position, and I ended up selling them to another client.
Quality: They are absolutely built great, beautiful materials. They do not seem overpriced based on the material at all.
Summary: These are a fad, and people like them because aesthetically their heel looks better. Don't fall for it - you will lose your base in your heel and begin to pinch with your knee instead of gripping with your calf. Stick with the classics and you will be happier in the long run!
