Purchase: I did a lot of searching for the right boot on EasyCare's website. I liked the Glove because it sounded so easy. My horse's measurements barely fit into the parameters, but I decided to go for it anyway. I'm a weekend rider on mostly rocky, sandy roads and didn't want shoes on her 24/7 for just riding once or twice a week. I bought the boots from Valley Vet Supply for $45 each.
Likes: I've used them four times so far and I am mighty impressed! SUPER easy to put on and take off. Went up and down steep, rocky hills, through water and mud, walk, trot, and full out gallop. They are great! I was worried about the neoprene rubbing her bulbs, but the first time out I got off and checked about half an hour into the ride and all looked well. The top of the boot does gape a little bit around her hoof wall, but this doesn't seem to inhibit the fit at all. When we went through the mud she did get some sand in the boots, but not much. There is a "power strap" you can buy and apply if this is a problem.
Dislikes: The gator straps are supposed to be tight, but after a few rides the neoprene has already stretched and I may have to cut the velcro so I can get the straps tight enough. Not a huge deal.
Quality: The construction seems pretty good, and I'm impressed with the quality. It'll be interesting to see how the neoprene holds up.
Summary: I can't tell you how happy I am with these boots. Easy on, easy off, no buckles or cables to deal with. I thought these boots were going to be too good to be true, but they've surpassed my expectations.
