Purchase: I have been looking for stretch riding jeans with a regular waistline for some time and, after reading the review on this website, decided to give the Horsewoman Spirit jeans a try. After perusing the website, I called Karen Greene on their 800 number and discussed sizing. She suggested the smaller size, as they do run a bit large. They were $49.50, which I thought was quite reasonable.
Likes: The boot cut is not huge, just large enough to fit over my boots, whether English or Western. They are plenty long without being too long. I like that they don't ride up while I'm in the saddle, and are comfortable to wear anywhere or do anything. And the regular height waist is just wonderful!!!! Karen was right, they do run a bit large, so the smaller size was perfect.
Dislikes:
Quality: The denim is stretchy, and has memory, so doesn't bag ever. There are no thick seams on the inside of the leg, so no rubbing on the saddle. They are the best casual riding pants I've come across and I've been riding for 47 years.
Summary: I would recommend these riding pants to anyone who would like the comfort and the natural waistline. I do understand that the owner is working on a low rise version for the younger gals. Happy Trails to all.
