Purchase: Having owned several Tucker endurance/plantation saddles, I needed one that was lighter in weight and had a lower cantle. A local ad on Craig's List turned out to be a great bargain...an upgraded Tucker equitation endurance model in like new condition for $775 compared to the new price of $1675.
Likes: This saddle has a secure close contact feel which makes me feel like a team with my horse instead of just sitting on a saddle going along for a ride. It is very comfortable for long trail rides, light weight, and beautifully made. This Tucker is my favorite of all of the Tucker's I've owned.
Dislikes: While riding on my larger horse the stirrup leathers pinch my calves, so I ride with half chaps or in riding pants that have suede at the calves. However, there is no pinching problem when I'm riding my narrower horse. But I suppose this would be a problem with any saddle with english stirrup leathers. It's really not a problem when considering all the pluses of this saddle though.
Quality: Tucker saddles are of excellent construction and quality, made to last forever and provide a wonderful riding experience.
Summary: Based on my experience with many different saddles brands and especially with several Tucker models, I recommend the equitation endurance to anyone who loves to trail ride or compete in endurance trials. Some gaited horse associations even allow this model to be used for showing too.
