Purchase: I purchased this GPA helmet from the www.equusnow.com website. They have one of the best prices for this expensive helmet and they give free shipping AND include a free Charles Owen hat box (a $40.00 value)! A VERY sweet deal!! Current price is $374.95.
Likes: Lightweight, excellent fit, and very comfortable to wear. The ventilation system is amazing! I could actually feel a breeze on the top of my head while wearing it and did not sweat as heavily as when wearing my old helmet. I chose the black sueded covering with the black titanium stripe but it's available in a few color combinations as well as with a traditional velvet covering.
Dislikes: I was skeptical about these really expensive helmets and got more than a little turned off when I noticed that since the new show ruling has gone into effect stating that senior riders will need to wear approved helmets on the showgrounds, the prices have really started getting greedy.
Otherwise, I would have to say there is nothing I do not like about this helmet!
Quality: The quality is top notch. The faux suede covering fits well and is cleaned with a soft lint brush or a lint free cloth and plain water. The titanium stripe offers secure extra protection and ventilation. I have never had a helmet that fit my head as well as this one.
Summary: Although expensive, it is a quality item and looks attractive, even for an approved helmet. I am glad I shopped for the best price and I'm not unhappy with my purchase.
