Purchase: Bought this pad on-line for $65 plus shipping.
Likes: Beautiful colored top and fabric wipes clean. Heavy leather wear guards clean up easily too. It conformed to my horse and saddle after about 2 rides. The extra air pockets keep the saddle's bars from pressing on my horse's back, as he has prominent withers and is thin. I like the way the contour fits my horse.
Dislikes: The pad's black fleece underside is difficult to keep clean. I bought this pad because it's so highly recommended and endorsed, but after about 3 months of trail riding I noticed the pad's fleece was wearing thin. My saddle seems to sink forward on longer trail rides or when we run abit too. So far he does not have any sore spots.
Quality: The pad's black fleece is thinner and of cheaper quality than I expected. After only a few months it is not holding up to daily use. The fabric top and leathers are holding up and easily clean up. It seems like the special built up pockets give in on longer rides, and I am not heavy!
Summary: This pad is highly advertised but I am disappointed in the quality of the fleece and how it's wearing thin. I am looking for a new pad that will last at least one whole year! Time to shop again.
