Purchase: I paid about $115.00 for this bit through a mail order tack shop.
Likes: I loved the quality of this bit, and the design. It is elegant looking, superior to other kimberwick bits that can be found. I was able to order the style bit I wanted with the mouthpiece (style PB 41) that would be good for my horse.
Dislikes: The bit was great for the horse I described to the salesperson who sold it to me. She had a mouth and a constitution like iron, but the bit was completely wrong for my next horse, who has a hypersensitive mouth. (Of course different horses react differently to each bit). When I showed the bit to my vet, he mentioned that the independently swiveling sides of the mouthpiece could potentially pinch a horse's tongue, which was probably going on with my new horse.
Quality: Beautiful.
Summary: This is just a cautionary tale for people to make sure to match the bit to the needs and temperament of each horse! Just watch out for the swiveling action of some of the Myler styles. Some horses just don't like it.
