Manufacturer: Crestridge Saddlery
Model: Ovation Endurance
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: I met Debra at Crestridge Saddlery about a year and a half ago.At that time I acquired a saddle from her that I will relate in another review. I ride Tennessee Walking horses and have one that is hard to fit a saddle to. Debra suggested that I try the tree style that this Ovation saddle was built on. Saddle cost was $1450.
Likes: I usually ride a saddle with a horn, but decided to try out this Ovation saddle basically due to the fact that it was built on the tree that Debra suggested for my horse. After riding in it for a couple 3 hour rides I am well pleased. The quality in workmanship is second to none in my opinion. The leather is grade A and very soft and supple and finished out very nicely. It is comfortable to ride in and most important it fits my horse
Dislikes: There is really nothing functional or cosmetic about the saddle that I do not like. I would prefer to have a horn but as I said before, After a couple 3 hour rides that is a non issue.
Quality: Construction is top notch- Grade A vat dyed leather that is soft and flexible, The finish on the saddle is excellent. Stitching is very professionally done and the fit and finish of this saddle is perfect.
Summary: I basically just trail ride, this saddle fits the bill for me. If you are an endurance rider however I would seriously consider looking into this saddle, It is light, is put together with very high quality craftsmanship and one of the most important aspects ( if not the most important) is the customer service that you receive from Debra at Crestridge Saddlery. She will not rest until you and your horse are HAPPY.
