Purchase: I Got this saddle from Debra at Crestridge saddlery last October. My wife and I took a trip to meet Debra and for a getaway at her trail riding resort, of course I took a horse along to have a saddle fitted to.
After going through several saddles with different trees , Debra tried this prototype of her new High Prairie saddle on my horse and it was a very very good fit. I will not list a price because this was a prototype.
Likes: This particular High Prairie was a Slick seat in basic Tan Leather, that was vat dyed. It has a unique girt rigging that appealed to me because of the adjustments you can make with it. Even though it is a prototype it was very professionally made, stitching was perfect, and attention to detail was very obvious. The slick seat is comfortable and I seem to be able to feel my horse better than with a saddle with a seat with lots of padding. Fit on the horse was very good.
Dislikes: The only down fall is that this saddle is a bit heavy, but on the plus side it is very stable on the horse which in my opinion gives you a better ride and the saddle holds to the horses back much better than a light saddle.
Quality: Quality and construction are excellent, This saddle was made by a saddle maker that takes pride in his work. I get asked all the time " What kind of saddle is that, it looks great".
Summary: Saddle is well made, fits my Gaited horse( in fact it fits two of my gaited horses).
Debra's great customer service and her quality saddles and tack will bring me back for other purchases.
