Purchase: I was searching for a saddle to fit me and my pony. I am an eventer/jumper so I was in need of a jump saddle type. My pony was not the hard one to fit it was me! I am really 4'8" at the time. I looked at the pessoa pony that one was to small and did not fit my pony as well. I tried an ovation saddle and more. Finally we found a saddle that fitted me well THE STUBBEN REX and BEVAL LTD!!! I hated the rex but my mom really wanted me to get it it was in perfect condition and the wide tree fit my pony nicely. However I love the way you had to find your own position and really learn to ride and it fitted nicely. When we went to go buy the BEVAL LTD I took one more look at the saddles and say THE BEVAL DEVON 2000!!!! It was the same price and it was faded. (both Bevals and stubben were used). I loved it though. We tried this one and bought it. I paid $400.00 for it however new they are worth way more.

Likes: I love the way you have to find your own nice position. You can ride in 1/2 seat or in in the saddle. I jump and feel nice and secure in the saddle. It has a pretty flat seat before trying this saddle I hated it.The knee rolls are not huge an dont lock you in. You really can understand the horse better in this saddle. It is nice comfy though. The leather is nice and supple and lasts forever. When I bought it was so faded just a few oil darkening treatments and it was all better and nice and supple.

Dislikes: What I don't like is that it scratches pretty easily. And something I noticed on both the beval I tried is that the stitching at the bottom of the flap where your leg rub the most has some stitching missing. However I think that the saddles are just old and all other stitching is fine. Also the billet straps are fairly long so about 2 inches hangs out from underneath the flap. However I know I could just cut that. I really love this saddle and the only other saddle I would want to try right now is the POSSOA LEGACY JR.

Quality: I think that great care went in to making this saddle. I believe this saddle that have has been around a while, so it holds up nicely. The stuffing is nice and there is no sign of any restuffing.

Summary: I recommend this saddle to everyone whether a hunter, jumper or eventer. I think the only brand I want t ride in for the rest of my life is Beval. Everything is high quality. Also if the price is to much for a new one then search for used ones. Try out the new so you know what kind of saddles fit you and your horse then go on ebay!!!
