Manufacturer: Gaston Mercier
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: Hi-Tack, US distributor, $2,800.
Likes: Very comfortable, narrow twist, puts rider in optimal position, less effort to maintain good equitation on the trail over varied terrain. Nice secure high knee/thigh rolls. Padded fenders very comfortable. Very well made, high quality. Good custom fit using photos of horse's back. Very lightweight due to carbon fiber tree. Very secure enclosed stirrups with footbed encompassing entire forefoot instead of just ball of foot. Set back a few inches on spine from normal saddle position, cut back to avoid interference with shoulder movement. Horse moves out better in it.
Dislikes: Can't find anything yet.
Quality: Excellent quality pretreated weather resistant leather, comes in many colors. Pad and cinch very well made with non-absorbent waffle material.
Summary: Well designed, ergonomic for both horse and rider.
