Purchase: I bought this saddle used at a tack store, and paid around $200 for it.
Likes: I use this saddle for EVERYTHING - jumping, flat work, eventing, trail riding, and even barrel racing and pole bending. I am a very petite rider (5'1" and under 100 lbs), and it fits perfectly. I'm so balanced on this saddle that I'm spoiled - I try to rider in a Western saddle and I feel like I'm going to fall.
Dislikes: Well, since the saddle is pretty old, the seat has become really hard, so if I sit on it for very long at a time I start to get a sore behind. But when you're in a two point position and jumping a lot, that doesn't really matter. Also it can be a bit uncomfortable at a sitting trot for the same reason. But since it's an old saddle, that's OK with me.
Quality: It is obviously well constructed because I've had it for years and have never had any repairs done to it. The stitches are starting to separate a little, but that's an easy enough fix. Billets still seem solid after all these years.
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone. If this one ever finally gives out, I'll look online for another used Blue Ribbon saddle (I don't think they make them new anymore).
