Purchase: I fell in love with the red and pumice amigo shipping set found in the smartpak catalog and knew I had to have the whole set. Part of the collection is this halter and lead rope. Like any good shopper I found the retail price of $23.00 a little more than I wanted to pay and found it new from a different supplier on eBay for just $7.00 plus shipping. This is all this halter and lead is worth.
Likes: It looked great on the model horse at the Horseware Ireland website and matched the shipping set beautifully.
Dislikes: Snap is not of an appropriate style to be on a halter, nylon is a scratchy poly material and is quite stiff, lead rope is unsubstantial.
Quality: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap! Do not be fooled by the brand name this is about the cheapest made halter I have seen in a long time. It has a goofy swivel snap at the cheek instead of a normal halter clip. The hardware at the nose is the cheapest flat punched and gold colored piece of metal available. Not to mention that the included lead is so thin with just a tiny little snap on the end, that I would be afraid that my Italian greyhound could break it, and not going to risk my show horse to it. I am highly disappointed in the quality overall. I expected based on the retail price of this Amigo line that the quality would be respectable. I just only hope my shipping boots, jersey cooler, and cotton sheet (which have not arrived to me yet) are not this poorly made.
Summary: Do not pay more than $7.00 and shipping for this halter if you are intent on dressing your horse in the entire Amigo fashion line. I'm bummed.
