Purchase: I bought these shoes at hatcountry.com and I paid $155.99
Likes: They are very pretty to look at and "appear" to be ruggedly constructed.
Dislikes: One shoe is clearly smaller than the other but I did not return it for an exchange because I would have to pay shipping both ways as well as 20% restocking fees. They are very heavy and shipping would cost as much as the shoe. I took it to a professional shoe store and they said that the shoe is manufactured defective. This whole experience has left me very disappointed in Hat Country which has a good reputation. I know it is pointless to ask for a refund or exchange because they will only quote their return policy to me which is more complicated than the NATO treaty. I should have stuck to Amazon.com which has an easy return and even pays for the shipping and the shoe is $50 cheaper.
After all it is internet shopping and customers do not get to try on the shoes before paying for them. I wish, I had read the return policy before I bought the shoes but I have shopped on the internet for 10 years and never seen a return policy like this. All I can think of is that the company is completely uninterested in customer satisfaction because if Amazon can do it, so should they.

Summary: I would not buy these shoes again because they are not worth the money. A boot manufacturer who makes a pair of shoes should at least make the two shoes in a pair alike. One is noticeably skinnier than the other.
