Likes: This is a good looking, very reasonably priced entry level show saddle good for local shows. It's comfortable and attractive with some basic silver decoration. It's fairly light and easy to maneuver, also. The leather is quality.
Dislikes: First of all, this saddle turned out to be a Park and Trail model with a couple of silver do-dads slapped on it, and the price boosted accordingly. I didn't like the ralide tree underneath the saddle. It's really pretty cheap. Worst of all, it was ill-made. The back of the skirts behind the cantle dipped down and dug into the back of my horse. I tried to sell this saddle to a couple of different customers, but they noticed this flaw and I felt guilty as **** trying to pawn it off on them!
Quality: As stated before, the construction, the basic construction, was way off on the saddle. I didn't pay any attention to that when I bought it at the tack shop; I assumed all Circle Y saddles would be straight and true. (I've since learned all saddles should be checked from any company...they all make mistakes!) Also, I kind of felt taken in when I realized it was a dressed up Park and Trail, and that without the silver doo-dads, I could have had the same saddle for $400 less. Live and learn.
Summary: I've got nothing against Circle Y products, but I've learned that not all saddles, even those from good companies, are created equally. Best to check over what you buy with someone who knows what they are looking at. Do your homework!
