Purchase: I purchased this saddle at the Cayuse Shop in Sauk City Wisconsin. I purchased it because I had an older saddle which was the same brand and I really liked it. I paid approximately $1100 for it.
Likes: I really like the craftsmanship of this saddle. It is a very nice looking saddle. This saddle has the full quarter horse bars, and sits comfortably.
Dislikes: What I do not like about this saddle is that I feel it is throwing me forward a bit which makes it hard for me to sit coming into a barrel. I think it may be due to the full quarter horse bars sitting lower on the withers of the TB type horses. My last horse didn't have much rate, so I didn't really notice the "sitting" issue until I switched horses.
Quality: This is a well made, good quality saddle. It has the hermann oak leather, rough out fenders and pretty tooling on the skirt. I did change the stirrups to aluminum, however.
Summary: All in all, this is a very nice saddle. You can sit in it for hours trail riding and not get sore, even with the rough out fenders. It is of medium weight, so it is easy to throw up on the bigger horses. I think if it wasn't the full quarter horse bars, I probably wouldn't have the issues I'm having.
