Purchase: I bought this saddle nearly ten years ago for $1300 (cdn incl. shipping); I was 16 at the time and was looking for a versatile saddle I could barrel race in comfortably, as well as show in 4-H and local shows, without breaking my piggy bank. The Rocking R enabled me to do both easily; it had the attractive Montana Silversmith detail of a show saddle and the security of a quality barrel saddle.
Likes: EVERYTHING! As mentioned above I bought this saddle ten years ago and am STILL using it as my primary western saddle; it has fit every horse I have put it on, from my wide QH gelding to my narrow Dutch Warmblood mare.
It has been shown in, barrel raced in, and I have trained several colts in it.
Dislikes: Nothing! Although I found the leather a little hard to break in at the time, it has withstood everything I have put it through beautifully; no one believes I bought it so long ago.
Quality: I bought this saddle new, I was able to pick out exactly what I wanted because each saddle is custom made.
Summary: I would recommend a Rocking R to anyone, whether it be a first saddle or a tenth; I am currently looking to purchase a new show saddle and am extremely impressed by their Equitation saddles as well.
