Model: Cordura Round Skirt Saddle (View all Cordura Round Skirt Saddle reviews)
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: Purchased like new condition on ebay for $280 with pad and girth. Recommended by a barn buddy. Its the 15" regular QH tree. Saddle comes from the mfg. with cinch straps.
Likes: It's so light weight, makes it easy to carry & lift up. So the horse has got to appreciate that too. Even though I like the feel and smell of my trusty leather trail saddle, when I rode a hard-trotting, bouncy horse all I felt was the comfortable padded seat and fenders - ahh. Everything is padded, no squeaking, so you can enjoy your trail rides. My barn buddy washes her's off with dawn dish detergent. So far I've just vacuumed off some dirt and hair.
Dislikes: Needs front D rings for your breast collar. I got a fleece seat saver so I don't wear away the seat. It may be suede and the pommel/horn is leather. That being the only thing leather is not really a bad thing.
Quality: Well made, heavy cordura fabric, good fleece padding underneath, 6 very nice silver conchos dress it up abit. The nylon stirrup straps are reinforced with leather to prevent stretching and have quick change buckles to easily adjust the stirrups, which are molded and they have grippers for your feet. The stirrup hobble straps are fabric with velcro. You can change that if you're picky. There's 2 big D rings for saddle bags on the back.
Summary: There's not much I don't like. It should have front D rings for attaching a breast collar. We attach it to the cinch rings. That's all I'd change or add to it. I trail ride at least 3 times a week. My barn buddy rides every day and has 2 Abetta saddles, one is a wide tree. They are very comfortable, easy to care for and look good too!
