Purchase: I bought the soft saddle from a friend for fifty bucks! The saddle pad was from Country Supply for I believe fifty five bucks.
Likes: Well worth every penny except I did not like the stirrups straps. Too hard to adjust to different lengths. And man don't let someone take them off , they're a mess to figure out how to put back on. I finally made my own stirrup straps with the regular buckles. Also for long hot trail rides I made stirrup leather covers out of fleece and wide velcro so they stay in place. Looks a little different but keeps your jeans drier and cleaner. Rode to Mount Rushmore from Elk Haven Ranch *14 mile ride each way and my hiney and my knees never bothered me a bit. And I'm 52 years old. No spring chicken. I also bought the cashel saddle pad with the d rings to attach gear to. Don't recommend that at all. Does not stay in place well with the added weight of saddle bags. Finally made my own with a regular western tacky pad and looks a little strange but works wonderfully. Over all ..I love the ride of the saddle , gives close contact like riding bareback and with a neoprene girth and pad even an old lady like me can mount my 16 H horse from the ground ....at least most of the time. Usually it's not the saddle slipping just old Arthur it is holding me down and the extra pounds I'm carrying in my SADDLE BAGS. Do recommend a breast collar if you're doing a lot of hill or mountain climbing. Won't go back to a regular saddle anytime soon. JD
Quality: Construction is good on saddle but did not like the way the stirrup straps attached. Saddle pad slipped with saddle bags,do not recommend using it for trail riding. Without any bags it was fine.
Summary: Really recommend the soft saddle if you're wanting to work on your seat. Practice with it at home before taking it out on a rough ride. Really comfy for bottom and for knees as well since there's no tree there's nothing solid to bottom out on your knees. Just a springy feel like jumping on Grandma's bed. Love it
