Purchase: Found this saddle on Craigslist for a steal at $400. I had it shipped to me as the seller was not local.
Likes: Absolutely gorgeous saddle. There was nothing stamped on it aside from the make/model and serial #, so I had to guess at the tree size. It fit very wide, and fit my wide-yet-high-withered WB mare perfectly. The saddle was probably 10-12 years old going off the serial # but it was still in great shape. Stitching was perfect and the leather was just perfect. Many people rode in this saddle and loved it, and it gave great support for larger fences.
Dislikes: The billets were two pieces of leather that didn't stay together very well. Also, it probably was not the best for flat work, at least not for me, as it pitched me forward a bit and having hip problems, it made it even harder to get my leg under me. That also really aggravated my hip issues and would often leave me sore.
Quality: Can't really be beat. Everything was perfectly sound, tree, stitching, etc. The panels were well stuffed and appeared in great condition. Leather was well broken in and very soft. Only construction complaint would be the billets splitting.
Summary: A great deal for someone looking for a quality saddle, as I don't think they have made this model in a while. Perfect for someone who spends a lot of time working over fences, but probably not the best for someone who does mostly flatwork (like me!).
