Purchase: I ordered this caveson online from Dover Saddlery on sale for $80.
Likes: Leather quality seems good.
Dislikes: Did not resemble the catalog photograph or description. Design is bizarre - unlike any other longe caveson I've ever seen. The padding on the nose and chin piece is over an inch think and appears carved out of a solid piece of very dense foam (covered in leather) so that it doesn't conform to the actual leather noseband/chin piece. Looks a lot like a design for a harness yoke rather than a caveson. It makes the rings stand out so far from the horse's nose that without tightening it down so hard that it would restrict breathing it will shift. Cannot be used over a bridle. Am returning it.
Quality: Construction is good. The design is just very poor.
Summary: Biggest disappointment is that the catalog was so far from reality. Had they had an accurate description and photograph I would not have ordered this item.
