Purchase: I bought this blanket used from a neighbor for $20 because I coveted a friend's Baker Blanket and this is very similar. I found out I got a great deal because the retail price for this blanket ranges between $70 for mini sized to over $130 for draft sizes. Of course, the manufacturer cover all the sizes in between.
Likes: The Buckeye Blanket works well as a stable blanket and is also a key layering piece for cold New England winters. It really keeps my horse much warmer when used under his winter blanket than any other layering piece I've tried.
Dislikes: If I had to pick something I didn't like, it would be that it gives my horse shoulder rubs, but I can't imagine a blanket that doesn't.
I feel like I got the deal of the century because this blanket is well worth the retail price. It will last for many years. I am now looking to purchase one for my other horse as well as one for the kids' pony.
Quality: When I purchased this blanket I thought I was buying a Baker knock-off that wouldn't hold up. I couldn't have been more wrong! This is a quality blanket made from triple weave acrylic just like a Baker Blanket. The one I bought is in fact tan and blue plaid with blue trim but they are also sold in a tan and green plaid with green trim.
Summary: If you are looking for at purchasing a Baker Blanket, I would definitely take a look at the Buckeye Blanket.
